An Introduction

Hello! And welcome to my thing.

For those of you who may not know, my name is Cole Burge. I am 22 years old, and I am fresh out of the University of Washington with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In August, I will move to Mozambique and begin 27 months of Peace Corps Volunteer service, where I will teach high-school level mathematics in Mozambican public schools.

In this thing (henceforth referred to as a “blog”), I intend to post pictures, videos, stories, interviews, thoughts, and more from my time in Mozambique. I hope that this blog becomes a space for friends and family to see what I’m up to, share their thoughts, and keep in touch during my service. Those are my intentions and hopes – I expect that a lot will change, and you should, too.

Prior to my departure, I hope to familiarize myself with this platform (and with blogging!) by posting about my preparation, my thoughts, and notable events in my life. Ideally, there will already be posts for you to peruse by the time you read this.

So, again, welcome! I am happy that you’re here. I hope you enjoy this blog, and I thank you in advance for your patience as I get it up and running. Look around, say hello, and leave a comment or send me an email with comments and suggestions. For now, enjoy the pictures from my recent graduation, featuring my beautiful and loving family.

Note: this post will remain at the top of the page for a few months while I distribute the link to this blog to friends and family. After that, most recent posts will appear on top.
